About M&N

I bijou M&N, realizzati per hobby e per gioco, hanno una personalità spiccata, in cui accenni barocchi si fondono a tendenze contemporanee in un’armonia di forme e cromatismi che trova le sue radici nel vissuto delle due creative: 
l’amore per l’arte contemporanea, l'eco lontana di un’antica aristocrazia napoletana per l’una, un’infanzia trascorsa viaggiando l’Europa tra aste d’antiquariato e gallerie d’arte per l’altra.

Ogni singolo pezzo è volutamente esclusivo e pertanto unico e irripetibile, sia perché realizzato interamente a mano, sia perché gli elementi di cui si compone sono per lo più scovati e raccolti da Valentina e Susanna nei loro viaggi.

Le filigrane dorate sono state acquistate a New York, le perle e le pietre dure a Pechino, i cristalli a Venezia e Praga.




La collezione “Miseria & Nobiltà” trova la sua autoironia nel nome (tributo alla commedia napoletana di Eduardo) che vuole sottolineare proprio l’essenza di oggetti semplici come i bijoux che pur non essendo gioielli, possono essere l’accessorio chic per impreziosire anche il look più semplice.

The M&N  bijoux, created for hobby and for fun, have a strong personality, in which baroque accents blend with contemporary trends in a harmony of shapes and colors that finds its roots in the experiences of the two creative makers: the love for contemporary art, the distant echo of an ancient Neapolitan aristocracy for the one, a childhood spent traveling in Europe for antique auctions and art galleries for the other. 

Each piece is deliberately exclusive and therefore unique, either because it is completely hand made, or because the elements of which it is composed by are mostly found and collected from Valentina and Susanna during their travels.

The filigrees were purchased in New York, pearls and semi-precious stones in Beijing, the crystals in Venice and Prague.

The Miseria&Nobiltà bijoux collection finds its self-irony in its own name (a tribute to the comedy of the Neapolitan playwright Eduardo De Filippo) which wants to underline the very essence of simple objects such as costume jewelry, which despite not being jewelry, can be the chic accessory to embellish even the easiest look.
